It is one of the leading examples of buildings in the Chinese style in Europe, and is situated in the park of Drottningholm Palace, outside Stockholm. The building was commissioned by Queen Lovisa Ulrika in 1763 and was designed by the architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz. In watercolours Magnus Bard depicts scenes from the life once lived in this exotic setting. Catrine Arvidsson describes life at the pavilion in the times when hunting, games, recreation and theatrical performances were part of daily life. Max Plungers beautiful photographs of the newly renovated pavilion complete the portrayal of a unique building.
