This is the story, told in his own words, about a puppy who was called Runt. Runt, by far the smallest in his litter, lives with his Mama, his two sisters, two brothers and Carol (their 'two legger' owner). He quickly bonds with the neighbor dog, Bubba. Runt learns very early that he needs to use his brain rather than his size to overcome many obstacles. Very early in his life, Runt experiences many new things. With each experience, comes one adventure after another and with each one he learns many valuable lessons to prepare him for life. Runt comes to understand what it means to love someone and to have that love returned. Friendships are very important to him and he values them dearly. Along with that, he learns the importance of sharing. He sees that life isn't always fair and sometimes, as difficult as it is, he learns how to let go of some things.
