The central tenet presented in the book, is that the concepts of essence and form has guided every human endeavour throughout history, and that they continue to do so, despite the latent ambition within modernity to re-form everything, thus denying the existence of essences altogether. This imbalance is manifesting itself in politics, culture and our spiritual life. The author argues that the only possible way out of this world of imbalance is the way of the Counter-Revolution, the way of stability and renewal.
