The Monday Morning Rain tells the true story of the Buonaccorsi family as they move from the sunny hills of Tuscany to the rain soaked shores of the Clyde. The story is told through the eyes of the author, Roberto Buonaccorsi, with a depth of feeing that is touching, very often amusing and certainly highly entertaining. Roberto, who was born in Scotland at the end of the Second World War, also tells his own story of growing up in the back streets of Glasgow as a Scots-Italian. His tales of his service in the British Army, especially of his time in Hong Kong, are certainly hilarious and worth reading. In later years he found a love of Italy and all things Italian that remain with him to this day. The Monday Morning Rain is a good read and will strike a chord with all immigrant groups irrespective of nationality.
