A scientific overview of the state of the art in research on ageing and technology. It comprises studies from various disciplines, including physiology, psychology, sociology, economics, demography, experimental gerontology, epidemiology, ergonomics and design. Four chapters cover the applied areas: mobility, communication, housing and home health care technology. A concluding chapter offers recommentations on future research in gerontechnology and forms of collaboration between researchers, care organizations and industry.
