The abundant life that Jesus promised is about so much more than giving us husbands, wives or things. God gives us faith to ask Him for those things that are impossible. It has been said that man's extremity is God's opportunity. He still opens prison doors.
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. (Isaiah 61:1)
We were created by God to give Him glory.
Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. (Isaiah 43:7)
Faith, which is our complete trust and confidence in Him, gives God glory. When we are resolute in our belief in His Word and our actions indicate total reliance upon Him, it gives Him glory. Faith in God is the highest form of admiration and honor we can give Him.
The purpose of the trials was to strengthen me and increase my faith in Him. It was so He could be glorified in and through me. It is so I could tell you that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). It is so I could tell you that you, also, can make it through the storms if you believe Him.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised). (Hebrews 10:23)
Evangelist Cheryl L. Black believes that our children should not be left to their own imaginations, even when they become adults. They need someone to listen, counsel and intercede on their behalf or they will be destroyed. She believes parents should never stop talking to their children because the devil never stops. If you open up and share some of your life experiences with them, it may help them to avoid making some of the same mistakes you made. Remember, charity begins at home and then spreads abroad.
