A year after losing his job, Andy was made an offer he thought was too good to be true, a chance to regain thirty years of his life. In accepting this challenge it meant leaving his existence on this world behind and travelling to another planet. Could he survive there and return home? To do so he would have to stay alive for twice the length of time as he had received, in a land where society and its laws are so different from all that he knew. On this particular world there are no large cities with all their conveniences.
Saying that, even in this pre-industrial society he was to find some unexpected developments, not associated with a similar period in Earth's history. Part of the reason it had to be him that was sent there is that he would be the one to send the person that had persuaded him to travel. The Interstellar Travellers' Guide to Nart follows Andy on his unexpected and unusual journey to another planet, where he experiences a new life, love and loss.
