Vocational Higher Education has been seen as a neglected, but essential, aspect of the HE of the future. The creation of Lifelong Learning Networks (LLNs) was one way of addressing this area's needs. This book is the story of a three-year project to improve access to vocational higher education in the eastern part of the Yorkshire & Humber region of the UK. It describes the impediments to vocational higher education identified by the HE providers (colleges and University) working together as the Yorkshire & Humber East Lifelong Learning Network (YHELLN) and the initiatives developed, introduced and applied to overcome those barriers.
