Transnational Parties in the European Union
Political parties provide the opportunity for public involvment in politics. The national experience of the states that make up the European Union is that political parties have an important role to play in the democratization and integration of political systems. This book presents a study of transnational political parties within the European Union. It explores transnational party politics and networks, a study of right and left party politics in the Union, voting behaviour, political alignments within the European parliament and party groups, EP committees and consensus democracy.
