Sultana is a "purdanshin" woman, born and brought up in India (undivided under the British rule). She narrates her fate as here, "We have no hand or voice in the management of our social affairs. In India man is lord and master. He has taken to himself all powers and privileges and shut up the woman in the "Zenana". One evening when everyone is asleep, Sister Sara invites Sultana to see their virtuous land Naristan, where the social roles of women and men have been mutually exchanged. There they travel by air-cars extravaganza. Sister Sara says, "But, dear Sultana, how unfair it is to shut the harmless women and let loose men... who do or at least capable of doing no end of mischief..".
