Well known as an orchestral piece, Faure's 'Pavane' is here presented with the choir parts the composer himself provided. The vocal score was first published in 1891, the charmingly slight and musically apt text by Faure's acquiantance, the witty Comte Robert de Montesquio-Fezensac. This edition has eradicated discrepancies in the voice parts between the existing vocal and full scores.
