The Living Environment unit covers plants, animals, genetics, health topics, ecology, and humans in their environment. The Physical Sciences unit introduces students to the basics of matter, energy, magnetism, gravity, simple machines, astronomy, and earth science. Process Skills introduces children to the concept of scientific method and tools, and reviews measuring processes such as graphing and analyzing data. The Performance Assessment unit deals with scientific activities appropriate to the fourth-grade level.
