Primary Hyperparathyroidism
This book is an assessment of primary hyperparathyroidism based on the analysis of a national series of several thousand cases. After a review of the anatomic and embryologic fundamentals and of the pathologic aspects, the book proceeds to a discussion of the clinical features, laboratory diagnosis and topographic diagnosis. Separate chapters are devoted to reoperations, primary hyperparathyroidism in the context of multiple endocrinopathy, and malignant parathyroid disease. This book, intended as much for the physician and the endocrinologist as for the surgeon, sets out the current practical management of primary hyperparathyroidism.
