Recent advances in technology and the increasing number of Sardinian excavations now have made a precise and absolute chronology possible. A 1995 international colloquium was convened to work towards this goal, demonstrating the current status of laboratory dating techniques, observing the stratigraphic record and finding typological correlations with extra-insular sites in the Mediterranean.
