Child Health Care Nursing
The implementation of Project 2000 and degree level courses in paediatrics, together with the development of the child branch with its emphasis on the equal values of health promotion, community care and acute care, has produced enormous changes in the needs and contexts of nurses caring for children. This accessible book provides an overview of these - with a particular focus on ways in which nurses can deliver holistic care - and challenges the reader to assess his or her own knowledge and attitudes in all aspects of child care. Strong emphasis is placed on the needs of the child and family. This is illustrated by the inclusion of interviews with children and their families about their feelings in respect to their needs.
