Nuclear Power and National and International Security
This report discusses security and economic implications of different strategies for managing spent nuclear fuel) the 'back-end of the fuel cycle.' The first option for closing the nuclear fuel cycle is reprocessing the spent fuel. A second option involves permanent geological disposal of the spent fuel. The participants discussed this cycle in relation to the security of advanced nuclear countries and the possible connection to the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
