In order to learn democratic and social values, students need to learn in a school environment does not merely give them lip service, but demonstrates them. Throughout the manual's chapters and segments of the accompanying videotape, the workshop leader conducts a number of activities that provide participants with ways to focus and reflect on their own skills, values, and abilities as curriculum developers, teachers of literature, and models of positive values for our young people.
