The purpose of this volume is to provide the reader with an overview of a wide sampling of research methodologies employed in the investigation of animal learning, behaviour, and cognition. The subject matter of primary concern in this text is the experimental methods employed in these fields, not necessarily the findings obtained with the methodologies themselves. Each chapter was written by a researcher with extensive knowledge and experience employing a particular technique. While this edited volume is intended to serve primarily as a starting point for new research projects, it may also be of use in research methods or animal learning and cognition courses.
