In the first book, the pieces were designed for beginners and intermediate players to have fun and be stretched. But here, no punches are pulled! In “Danny Boy”, the cellist will be tackling double stops in tenor clef and in “Pizzicato”, both players are faced with fiendishly fast sempre pizzicato. The book progresses through many styles, taking in Aleksey’s reinventions of famous pieces by Mozart and Beethoven, to an unashamedly virtuoso conclusion called “Double Trouble”. Even Aleksey himself says “it is not exactly easy to play”. You have been warned! Wonderful fun and very challenging pieces, ideal for concert encores.
