Ella, the protagonist of the novel Espiritus Sanctus by Sophie Adams explores various tangents in the capital city of the fictional country Ingle-nook. Spurred on by her thoughts, although they are somewhat suppressed by a medicine, of which the effects are unknown- and that she must take; she travels throughout the city giving a visionary's account of life's intoxicating journey.
