Communications Law and Policy in The People's Republic of China - Experiences and Reflections
This seminar arose from the Chinese emphasis in recent years upon developing their communications infrastructure. Among the subjects the panelists addressed was that of the recent changes in the Chinese market, the constraints, internal and external, faced in attempting to do business with the Chinese in the context of communications, e.g., effects of U.S. export licensing procedures for high-technology products and information, protection of propriety rights in information and technology, and the effects of the PRC's newly decentralized decision-making process. The discussion further included how to enter the Chinese market, how to structure a business arrangement in China, and touched upon current communications projects.
