This anthology of articles is published on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of International Development Collaboration at STAKES. The articles discuss the developments in international health and social policy, record important observations and results of project work, and describe social and health problems of developing and transition countries, reflecting the diverse profile of the unit's work. The authors are representatives of international funding organisations, high-level policy-makers, experts and colleagues from Finland and abroad, and the staff of STAKES.

We hope to give the reader an insight into international development work in health care and social welfare as well as useful and substantial information on various topics.
