This study provides the reader with a review of current trends and debates concerning population ageing and its consequences in Finland. The report covers the field of economy and finance, the labour market, urban planning and housing, education and training, social values, health care, immigration, as well as regional cohesion. The objectives of the work were defined as follows: first of all, to give an overview of the measures taken since the 1990s in order to cope with the population ageing; secondly, to describe the situation of the elderly in the country; and thirdly to present future trends.
