Co-authored by a photojournalism professor at the University of North Texas and an Assistant Managing Editor of Visuals for The Dallas Morning News, the text merges two worlds of photojournalism — the academic and the professional — and incorporates the information essential to both.

The book covers current practices in the professional field such as transmitting and archiving — information that photojournalism students will need to know as they pursue careers in the field. Legal and ethical issues are also discussed.
