The Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool is the first ever pool created in a middle income country. It offers cost-effective insurance coverage against earthquakes to households through an innovative public-private partnership. This book describes how this pool was designed and implemented, presents the main challenges and draws some lessons from this successful experience supported by the World Bank.
