Michal Sikorski has been photographing deserts for a great many years. He started as a young photographer in the 70's.
Throughout the years he has visited 30 of our planet's deserts, and their beautiful landscapes unavoidably keep on making a tremendous impression on him. In his photographs he catches the aesthetic values of these desert lands, granting them thus an "homage", as is documented in this very album - "Giving Deserts Their Due..."
On the pages of the book's main section, the images are arranged according to the Nine Laws of Composition formulated by the recognized Victorian artist, art critic and theoretician, John Ruskin. These picture composition laws appear surprisingly current, and are sure to inspire visual artists, designers and photographers of today.
Selecting the most adequate images in the photographer's large archive has been a longer process, "the work has been stimulating though, and most rewarding" - states Michal Sikorski and the co-author Peter Gyllan
