This resource has been developed to cover the GCSE specification in Irish. Covering all three contexts (The Individual, Citizenship, Employability) the book leads students in their exploration of the Irish language through the four distinct processes of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking through accessible, everyday scenarios.
The book also features a Grammar section and the language used was checked and approved by CCEA prior to publication to ensure that it meets all current guidelines. The team of six authors all have experience teaching Irish, and most are currently teaching the GCSE Irish specification from CCEA.
The book has been written to make use of a series of audio recordings of spoken Irish developed by CCEA, which are available for teachers to download from CCEA or via this link - http://colourpointeducational.com/media/content/GCSEIrishSoundFiles.zip.
There are numerous exercises and supporting material to aid student learning, many of which make use of and build upon the audio recordings.
