This book provides integrated exercises that enable students to assess and develop their Japanese language ability in the aspects of listening, reading, vocabulary and grammatical items.

The exercises include many academic topics and vocabulary, allowing students to prepare for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test as well as for situations requiring "academic Japanese," including the new entrance examination for Japanese colleges.

The book consists of three steps: Finding your weak points through short tests, exercises covering various topics, and progress evaluation through review exercises.

The exercises are of a relatively advanced level and students can repeat them several times to hone their ability. This book can be used in a classroom setting as well as for self-study.

Level A corresponds to Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
