"Allergic Like Me" was written by a mother of a child with severe food allergies. When Annie first learns of her allergy she feels isolated. She is worried that she will be teased at school and will not be able to participate in any event with food.  Her parents teach her there are ways to minimize exclusions and that she is not alone.  The on-going theme "it's ok to be allergic like me" will help children to accept that being allergic, although challenging, is not the end of the world!
