Social Work Practice with Refugee and Immigrant Youth in the United States addresses an ever increasing population group whose sitution presents current and future Social Work practioners with a tremendous amount of opportunities and challenges. In the last decade, the US has experienced Social-cultural developments that have borne witness to the emergence of two distinct and yet potentially beneficial trends: the increased presence of immigrant and refugee youth and the popularity of youth development as a paradigm and field of practice. This text contextualizes the newcomer experience and provides a guide for social workers developing interventions using a youth development paradigm.
