This book is about a girl who moves to Manhattan and is led to believe that she is just and ordinary girl while her mother is concealing a secret that will change the course of the girls life forever. She is led to believe that she belongs to the world of reality when in truth there is another world the girl doesn't know of yet. When the girl's mother is kidnapped the girl sets out to find and rescue her mother and she meets some people who quickly become her allies. Some are more connected to the girl more then they know. The girl is willing to risk life itself to find her mother. Along the journey she finds there is more to her then meets the eye.
