This memoire records how to fly by ear or play by wire. It starts with the author up to his nose in extravagant difficulty - no job, no prospects, his wife pregnant and in Zurich's most expensive hospital, but the gods, maverick as always, decide to let him survive. His subsequent adventures take him to France, Germany, Canada, almost the whole of Scandinavia and the United States. That he falls on his feet almost goes without saying.
