Dani was born 1965 in Närpes, on the west coast of Finland. He started playing the piano at an early age, studied music at the Kuula institute, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, and at Manne's College of Music in New York.
In the mid-eighties he moved to California, became the keyboard player for the Heritage Singers, toured 11 months out of the year for 3 years with them.
He has played at a wide range of venues, from concert halls like Carnegie Hall, to casinos in Las Vegas, jazz clubs, churches, hotels, TV shows, and recording sessions.
After the years in CA he moved to New York where he was trained and worked as a concert technician for Steinway & Sons on Manhattan and he got to work with musicians such as Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, the Marsalis brothers, The NY Philharmonic, Alfred Brendel, Murray Perahia, Harry Connick Jr, Rudolph Serkin, Emanuel Ax, Mitsuko Uchida, Shura Cherkassky ...
Dani now lives in his native country of Finland. He works as a composer and pianist. He has released 4 cd’s. He has written music for film, such as Klaus Härö's "Letters to Father Jacob" (for which he received the Nordic Film Music Award for best film music, and also the Finnish Jussi Award), Kjell Sundvall's "Vinnare och förlorare", Hanna Hemilä's "Paavo-A life in five courses" and for TV, such as "Strömsö", "Kotikatu", "Samtal på Strömsö", "Religious Apartheid", "Skolmusik", "Relationskliniken"...
Dani also writes music for advertising, does recording sessions, and plays regularly with his jazz trio/quartet/quintet.
