This revised edition presents a broad, interdisiplinary analysis of the regional economic changes and adjustments which have occurred in the United States in the past few decades. The authors focus much of their discussion on the economic boom areas of the Southern Rim, and the depressed Northern Crescent. Through their careful study the authors point to the fact that public policy in general, and federal spending in particular have had little or no impact on regional economic fortunes.
