Spanish for Classroom Teachers, 1/eis a unique text designed to help K-9 teachers understand the language and culture of the Hispanic community in order to communicate more effectively with their Latino students.

Every chapter in this text provides basic vocabulary and phrases used in the classroom to assist teachers in communicating with Hispanic students.  These phrases include everything from busing and the opening of the school day to many parts of the curriculum including music, math, history, and geography.  This is the first book of its kind whose basic classroom vocabulary includes not only standard Spanish words but also regional and border Spanish terms which are extremely prevalent in many schools.

To help teachers gain a balanced and more accurate view of Hispanic culture the authors include information on the Hispanic contributions to Western Civilization and to the history of the United States.  This kind of information allows teachers to be able to develop student self awareness and pride in their own heritage while they learn history.
