The School Sisters of Notre Dame have dedicated themselves to an examination of the writings of their foundress, Mother Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, and her faithful daughter Mother Caroline Friess, in an effort to renew, refocus, and return to the original charism of the Congregation. In this work, members of the School Sisters of Notre Dame along with professors of history, religion and theology contribute essays which examine the life of Mother Caroline, and discuss the timelessness of her vision. Contents: Envisioning the Future; Grounding the Vision: Caroline in 19th Century Europe; Response; Adapting the Vision: Caroline in 19th Century America; Response; Trusting the Voices: Educating Women for the 21st Century; Daring the Voices: Building a Global Community; A Woman Called and Sent: The Spirituality of Mother Caroline; Transformative Education; Mother Caroline Friess, SSND: "Power for Good in All Our Dioceses"; and Risking in Faith: Building Bridges. Co-published with the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
