Rajendra Bhatia has written several expository articles for renowned journals like The American Mathematical Monthly; Mathematical Intelligencer and Resonance. These elementary articles have often spurred research papers by other authors. On the other hand, some of his research articles present major ideas in such a simple way that they can be profitably read by beginners. This volume contains a selection of such articles compiled by the editors.
