Biomedical Informatics is an edited collection of excerpts from previously published articles with commentary, new chapters, and case studies, carefully arranged into thematic sections, with summarized commentary at the beginning of each section and chapter, and discussion points / questions and references at the end of each chapter. The general organization of the book will include:
Section Introductions that provide an overview of each section s topic area
Chapter Introductions that describe the context of each previously published article or new chapter, telling the story of the origination of the article, the context in which it was written, review of its core message(s), and the implications of the articles messages for modern interdisciplinary research
Points to Consider for each section, designed to initiate thought and discussion on the potential and practical implications for the core principles and key concepts of each section
Additional Reading to highlight related articles and important technical references, with mini summaries related each to the content of the specific sections
