From the encounter between Daniele di Bonaventura's historic Band'Union with Ilaria Pilar Patassini, an evocative musical journey into the true and profound sounds of the Bel Paese was born. The tradition of melodies and dialects is proposed and reworked in an elegant and passionate way through the colors of jazz and folk that enhance and renew its soul.
The live performance of Italia Folksongs is presented as a concert for everyone, cultured and popular at the same time. Compositions known and less known but no less precious, from the Naples of Varca Lucente to the Abruzzo of Vola Vola, from La Serenata with the Romanesque text by Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli to the sacredness of the Sardinian Ave Maria, Italia Folksongs is openly a project testimonial of timeless Italian music, of those melodies and richness of regional diversity that make our country a language of land unique in the world and also much loved for this reason.
Founded in 2003 Band'Union is a quartet composed by Marcello Peghìn (10 string guitar), Felice Del Gaudio (double bass), Alfredo Laviano (percussion) and Daniele di Bonaventura (bandoneon). He has performed in the most important international jazz festivals, playing in Poland, Germany, Austria, Ireland, Switzerland, Romania and Italy. He has 4 record publications to his credit: Canto alla Terra (Dodicilune), Nadir (Tuk Music). Band'Union Live (self-produced), Garofani Rossi (Tuk Music).
Band'Union was born from an idea of Daniele di Bonaventura and brings together musicians of great caliber and artistic and human sensitivity, united by music and a great friendship. Band'Union over the years has consolidated its being a warm border proposal, at the crossroads between ethnic music and jazz, world music and improvisation, far from any mannerisms and close to the need to bring the joy of interplay and popular root of music.
