This is the story of two Sheffield entertainers: George Fox, known as Professor De Lyle, and Winnie De Lyle, Britain's Premiere Lady Ventriloquist, two Sheffield entertainers as passed down through the family and written by George's grandson.

From Shopkeeper to Conjurer, from entertaining friends to entertaining the troops with their magic lantern slides, ventriloquist acts and feats of illusion. They entertained the rich and the poor from stately home to crowded parks and never ceased to amaze.
