In October 2000, Lucy Costigan flew from Dublin, Ireland, to Silicon Valley, California, to complete a 10-day contract. But destiny had other plans in store. On her first day in the Valley Lucy formed an immediate connection with one of her co-workers, Bob. Thus began a three-year adventure living in Santa Clara and exploring every corner of California: snow-capped mountains en route to Lake Tahoe; lush autumn vineyards in Napa and Sonoma; magical redwoods in Santa Cruz and giant sequoias in Yosemite; the splendour of the Pacific ocean in summertime; the barren wilderness of the Mojave Desert in winter.
